Happy Halloween Forum!
Happy Halloween everyone! A day for tricking treating, and my favorite, SCARY STORIES! So for this special occasion i shall tell you some stories to make you shiver, and hide under your blankets in bed, but these will not be your usual ghost stories, i will tell you about my own stories, and indian folklore i have learned from my dad and his friends(who consist of colorado hermits and veteran choctaw elders).
The Skinwalker
A boy of the age 14 went to the plains of Colorado for a visit to his great uncle, a hermit who lives in the vast lonliness of the plains overlooking the great mountains.
The boy came, and stayed in the house, and decided to go for a walk on the dirt road that goes on forever, to see where he would go.
The Uncle warned the boy to be careful, and to watch where he goes, for there is dangerous things out there, things there that have only one reason to live, and is to kill, and feast on any creature that wanders alone in the vast native land.
The boy did not let himself be frightened by the uncles warnings, and left anyway, laughing at such a ridiculous tale of horror.
As the boy wandered through the vast land he saw a person walking towards him from the long winding dirt road, this person did not come close, but came close where it was just a shadow with yellow glowing eyes. The boy asked what it was the person wanted, the figture did not answer. The boy asked who the person was, it did not answer. Finally it did talk, and its voice sounded like a long ecoing ancient voice that the boy shiver in the warm night. ''Be warned, young child, for this land is not for one to wander alone, or wander at all. This land features creatures you do not wish to greet, this land is painted in blood, this land is the land of death, and so beware, for the skinwalkers roam this vast plains, and are already stalking you, ready for the kill''. The boy lied to the firgure saying ''I shall turn back now, and will obey your commands or not wandering this land'' and as the boy walked off, he turned around to see the figure was gone, knoqing he has tricked the foolish man, he went back on his way through the lonley land. As the boy walked, he felt something stalking him, and turned around and saw nothing but his shadow that had been formed by the shining moonlight, but he saw his shadow had two yellow spots on where his head would be. The boy ran away screaming, but the shadow was always with him, and in the moonlight, on that lonley night, the boy disappeared. The boy never came home to his uncle, a search was formed, and yet no trace of the boy could be found, and the police officer that helped search for the boy walked up the uncle and stated ''i am sorry, but we fear the boy has been taken by a mountain lion, they are very common around here, im sorry for your lose''. The officer walked off, and the uncle thought for a long time about the boy, and would later tell his friends and family he would never forget that officer, he would never forget those harsh yellow eyes.
Skinwalkers are known throught southwestern indian lore, and they take on many shapes to kill their prey. These skinwalkers make no noise, and are not seen until too late. Skinwalkers, although only heard of around the southwest until now, are being reported all around the country, and some say if you look outside some dark night, and walk around for a little, you will see a man with yellow eyes, telling you about the skinwalker.
[By the way, my grandpa told me how you kill a skinwalker, but i don't think ill tell that part of the indian lore. :p happy hiking!]

My grandfather (who was a full blood indian) told my dad skinwalker stories, and my dad told me(right when we were in the middle of the dark walking on a deserted road :s) a story, and i transformed it into this story, but i left out the part on how you kill 'em.
