Is Technology Good?

Technology, is it good? Is it helping mankind,or hurting it? Does it seem like its helping, but really hurting? Or is it all good and will improve humans forever? I think that as we become more dependable on technology like GPS's and Iphones we my lose our own independence and live off computers like this, thus leaving us like the people off of Wall-E, so i think it is helping now, but if we get more dependent on it, we may become less self independent and be worthless without technology. This is just my opinion, you choose your own! Debate and Vote here! IS TECHNOLOGY GOOD? OR IS IT BAD?

Technology is good and bad in different ways.

Good, because it speeds up and lessens our work. Bad, because just like what Arma said, we can be (and ARE) too dependent to technology. Another is that most techno stuff here in this world consume electricity (even handheld stuff, you have to charge them and their batteries) and maybe, sooner or later, we'll run out of fossil fuels and the back-up energy sources (i forgot the name). So, it all depends.

Yes, it's bad, but not for mankind. For the Earth. Technology just gives our corrupted race more ways in which to harm each other and the planet. But the real issue isn't technology, it's intelligence. If humans were just another animal-like species, the world would be a much better place.

I agree with what SGs aid too lol. I do wish the side that said it was good would show up to debate.

I say its bad. People are becoming to greedy. They have to have the newest,best,trendiest new device on the market.Also, IMO chatrooms and texting are to ease the ackwardness. You know how sometimes you get on the phone with someone,and you can't find anything to say,so its ackward? Well chatting online like on myspace or texting on phones is how people prevent this problem. Bad thing is,its taking all the emotion out of us. Mankind is getting lazy. And its going to keep getting lazier if more technology comes. When you text or chat with someone saying lol,are you really actually laughing out loud?(I know sometimes we do but 99.9% of the time we don't.) Its taking the heart and soul out of human friendship.And its just going to keep getting worse...

I agree with you in a way but the thing is technology is somewhat helping mankind also Technology is good and bad in ways and the thing I think about lol is I think lol is more like just thinking its funny and rofl is laughing out loud
