Post A Good 70's-80's Song
Alright. Post a youtube link using an embedded code. Link to a good 70's-80's song with lyrics. Also, tell what you like about it. Tell what it means to you. Rate it 0-10, 10 being the highest. Rate other peoples songs. Tell people what you like or dislike about the songs they post. I'll start us off:
I like it because it's an absolute 80's essential. If you don't like this, you don't like the 80's. It makes you get that adrenelin pumping, even if your sitting still. It makes you believe you can do anything if you set your mind to it. I give it a 10/10. Good rythm, good ryme, good meaning. Post your thoughts. And upload a song yourself! It's fun!

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
heres a good ol' 70's song :p
i shall rate it 100/10 because it pwns off socks, and it means happiness, and it is just a up-tuned song about being outside in the sunshine! It makes me feel happy, and cheers me up when im sad.
(that and ''rain'' by the beatles, but thats the 60's..)

I give Mr. Blue by Electric light a 6/10. It is pretty upbeat. I like q lot of the chorus. I gives you that calming feeling. Here is the family matters theme requested by sg:
I give it a 4/10. It's just not my fortay. It is a classic, though. A lot of people liked it. But its still a good theme.

Since you never posted the youtube link, I'll do it for you. Next time do it on your own though, ok?
I like it. It reminds me of another song...but I can't put my finger on it. I give it a 7.5/10. Very...relaxing. Makes you feel homesick.

Ok, heres another legend. It's more than a feeling by boston. It's impossible to be in a bad mood after listening to this, with the windows down driving through the country on a summer day. IMPOSSIBLE. It makes me feel like it dosent matter what other people think of my likes and dislikes, because their still important to me, and they always will be. DEFINATELY a 10/10.
Comment, rate, and tell me if you like it.

Watching the wheels is ok. 4/10.
Here is American Woman by The Guess Who. Makes me feel like a bada**. ;D I give it a 10/10. It came out in 1970 precisely, so it still fits in this thread. xD

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
I give american woman a 2/10 because its not really a unique sound for the period, interesting songs usually have a unique sound. And it really doesn't appeal to me to pay attention to it for long.
The next one is Jealous Guy, which, is about him feeling remorse over being so jealous during his beatle days. He played this song on his acoustic guitar in an elevator at a Japanese Palace, and a couple stopped to listen, and when he finished they seemed to be disgusted(usual uptight people), but i dont know if they ever knew it, but they would be the last public people to ever watch John Lennon perform in front the public. He would be shot in 1980 by Mark Chapman, and would die on the way to the hospital. So, here is the last song John Lennon would perform for the public.(only video i could find with lyrics)
I rate it 10/10

Only one song per post...please. And please give your own embeded youtube link. Thanks.
Here is shadows of the night by pat benetar:
I give it a 3/10. Theres not really a good hook and not that much deep meaning.
Here is I guess thats why they call it the blues by elton john:
I couldn't find a video with the lyrics so here they are:
Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me
I could honestly say
That things can only get better
And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long
Before you and me run
To the place in our hearts
Where we hide
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second
Without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man
Without me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why
They call it the blues
Alright, for this one, I say 5/10. Very bluesey. Its old but good.

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
I like it! 8/10! and arma, you can post a music video if you copy and paste the lyrics into the post.
Alright here is one of my favorites. It's Forever Young by Rod Stewart:
I couldn't find a vid with the lyrics so here they are:
May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
with a prince or a vagabond
And may you never love in vain
and in my heart you will remain
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young
Forever Young
And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell
But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young ,Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
For, Forever Young, Forever Young
Ok,NOW to the review....The first few times I heard this I about cried, honestly. Thinking about my dad and I, and my mom isn't around, which adds to the emotion. And when you see the video its just the kid and his dad. How many of us have ever wished we were younger again...honestly? Being free...not having to deal with real world issues...back when we were little and fragile. I think this song will have even more meaning when I become a parent someday and quickly watch my kid go from 2 little pounds to taller than me. Even the evilist of people, had some innocence in them when they were young. If/when I have a child, I'm dedicating this song to them. Great melody and AWESOME meaning. 10/10.

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
Thats a good song. Nice 80's feel. So 7/10! And heres the George Harrison Music Video:
And heres my new song. It is infact, a 70's song cause it was released in 1970. p:
Sorry, couldnt find the naked real version of this song with lyrics, so i have to settle with the spector'd version of the song. Which because of the devil work done by Phil Spector on this version, i rate it 6/10. I like the real version where you can hear Billy Prestons organ solo.

I also give it a 6/10. I like the music video for set on you. Ok, I've been waiting a LONG time to post this, straight outta' the best of times, it's Walk This Way by Aerosmith!!!!! *Cheers*
Your basic teen love song, but with a fast upbeat melody. But It has one of the greatest rythm's EVER, as Joe Perry is the best guitar player in the world..hehe. And Steven Tyler just gets the way the vocals should sound to a T. The demon of screamin' will prevail! 10/10!

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
It has a good fast rock n' roll feel, so i give it 7/10.
Paul Simon- You Can Call Me Al 1986 with comedian chevy chase(the tall one) pretending to sing it. Paul is the short one with black hair.
A man walks down the street
He says why am I soft in the middle now
Why am I soft in the middle
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard
Bonedigger Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
A man walks down the street
He says why am I short of attention
Got a short little span of attention
And wo my nights are so long
Where's my wife and family
What if I die here
Who'll be my role-model
Now that my role-model is
Gone Gone
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All along along
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al
A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
The sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterlings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and Hallelujah!
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al
I give it a 9/10, it is not the best song in the Graceland album but it is one of my favorites!

CHEVY CHASE IS THE BOMB! MY FAVORITE COMEDIAN EVER!! Thanks for showing me this I didn't know about it! 9/10!!
Ok, here is a good ol' song about living in the south, and making sweet music to make people feel happy. It's American Pie by Don McLean.
This song is also about falling in love with a girl and the power of music. It just makes me feel good. 10/10.

Re: Post A Good 70's-80's Song
Queen! Nice! As much as I like queen, I really don't like this song. 2/10...Sorry Queen... ;(
I like this song a lot. It's Shooting Star by Bad Company. It's encouraging and makes me feel like I matter. It also tells a story.
Here are the lyrics:
Johnny was a schoolboy
When he heard his first Beatles song
Love Me Do, I think it was
And from there it didn't take him long
Got himself a guitar
Used to play every night
Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit
And everything's alright
Don't you know?
Johnny told his Mama,
"Hey, Mama, I'm goin' away
I'm Gonna hit the big time
Gonna be a big star someday"
Mama came to the door
With a teardrop in her eye
Johnny said, "Don't cry, Mama"
Smiled and waved goodbye
Don't you know?
Yeah......yeah.....
Don't you know that you are a shooting star
Don't you know
Don't you know
Don't you know that you are a shooting star
And all the world will love you just as long
As long as you are
Johnny made a record
Went straight up to number one
Suddenly everyone loved
To hear him sing HIS song
Watchin' the world go by
Surprisin' it goes so fast
Johnny looked around him and said,
"Well, I made the big-time at last"
Don't you know?
Don't you know?
A shooting star
Don't you know that You are a shooting star
Don't you know?
Don't you know that You are a shooting star
And all the world will love you just as long
as long as you are
Johnny died one night, died in his bed
Bottle of whisky, sleeping tablets by his head
Johnny's life passed him by like a warm summer day
If you listen to the wind you can still hear him play
Don't you know that You are a shooting star
Don't you know?
Don't you know that you are a shooting star
Dont you dont you dont you dont you dont you know
Don't you know that you are a shooting star
Don't you, don't you know that you are a shooting star
....Well, I like it a lot. I give it a 10/10. What do you think?

All thru' the day I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
All thru' the night I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
Now they're frightened of leaving it
Ev'ryone's weaving it,
Coming on strong all the time,
All thru' the day I me mine.
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine.
All I can hear I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
Even those tears I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
