If TRT ended today, how dissapointed would you be?
Goodbye TRT?
I'm posting this in the Hello/Goodbye thread because that's exactly where it belongs. The Forums used to be an active place. It's slowed down tremendously. The chat...is basically dead. Yes, people get on, but no, they don't talk. We all have to do something. If we don't, TRT is going to DIE. I don't know how to be any more blunt about that than I already am...
We've lost so many people in the near past, it's ridiculous. Just for example:
-DS
-Erika
-Jordan
-Dimples
-BM barely gets on anymore
-CB hardly ever gets on
-FK hardly ever gets on
-Carder is getting too busy to get on
-Olive hardly gets on
-Kelsie hardly gets on
-Mimoz hardly ever gets on
-Sozar never gets on
You guys seriously need to start trying to be more active. Literally, we ARE dying. Think about all the things SG has done for you. Think about all the times he talked you through a difficult conversation. Think about how many months, no, years, he's payed for and ran the chat. He's always been here for us, hasn't he? Well I think it's time that we return the favor, don't you?
Think about the memories. From the xat to 35259 to 8823 to the Forums to CP. Remember all of them. Remember where you came when you had no one else to talk to.
Remember.
No one wants to pay for something that's not getting any use. SG is paying for us to be able to talk and chat in a nice enviornment, and what are we doing in return? We're putting it in his face.
This has to stop. I love this place, and I know everyone else does too. But actions speak louder than words. Show your support. Get on the chat. Talk. Have fun. Don't forget about where most of your guys' internet socialness started.
At least make an effort. I'm doing everything I can to try and keep this place up. And SG? He's went over the top trying everything in his power to keep us all together and happy.
He's held up his end of the deal. Will you hold up yours?

Re: Goodbye TRT?
Of course I agree, however, noone made a deal with SG, and it's not actually their duty to get on, it's just a nice thing to do. You can't stop people from moving on.
Besides, if no one feels the need to get on here and keep the site going, then SG shouldn't feel the need to keep it going.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
1) I have one laptop which my father uses for work constantly so I can hardly ever use it, 2) I've gotten a ton of work for school and I've just had other things going on and I'd rather spend the little free time I have with my friends and 3) Everyone is always busy so it gets really boring whenever I'm on. And the people who talk that I talk to usually are busy talking about something else that I don't know about, like some game that they're playing, andddd 4) I only really talk to a select couple of you and I have several other ways of communicating with you other than the bribble.
But yeah I feel bad that sg is paying for no one being on, and I'd suggest stopping it and using xat or something... But xat just sucks and I know you wouldn't want the bribble to die down. But I can try to get on as much as I can.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
I feel really bad about hearing this. My internet social life did start on bribbles, I don't think it was this one, but all the same it was still a CP bribble. I feel terrible he has to pay for it when no-one uses it, but the reason I hardly go on? Well, there are quite a few actually. For the next two years it's going to be exams after exams, with homework and coursework in between. I spend all my time at the computer talking to people, yes, and I would go on the chat, and be as active as can be, but I don't. Why? Whenever I go on, I just get ignored, I try and join in and my opinion is slated, and it seems I'm just barging into a convo where all of you guys know each other and I... used to know you all really well. Then I left, so I guess it's my fault, but now I'm back it's just like people don't really want me there. I guess I'm exaggerating, but it's how I feel, really.

Why did I want to post this since I read this thread?
I totally agree that people should at least try to get on, because SG pays for all of this, but still, it really isn't their duty to get on.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
Well, you are right, this place isn't very active at all anymore. Regardless of how incredibly awkard it may be, I'm going to try my best to invite some people from my church.

I agree with CD. They should try to get on at least on weekends.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
Maybe I don't think it's my "duty" to pay for the chat any more then. Don't be surprised if you log onto a Xat some day soon.Cookie_death wrote:I totally agree that people should at least try to get on, because SG pays for all of this, but still, it really isn't their duty to get on.Armageddon wrote: it's not actually their duty to get on, it's just a nice thing to do. Re: Goodbye TRT?
I do feel bad but I honestly can't help not coming on a lot of the time.
1. New school.
2. Tons of homework being in top set >.<
3. SOCIAL LIFE.
I do miss TRT but as I've said, I don't come on because I KNOW that nobody's ever on.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
Everyone uses that logic. In case you hadn't put two and two together, that's a major reason why no one's on.bored911 wrote:I don't come on because I KNOW that nobody's ever on.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
I've reconsidered what I said. Looking at the poll made me think: what if TRT DID end today. I would have no connections with you guys again. Sure; facebook and msn, but some of you don't have that and I love talking to you guys in a group. Where do I sign up?
Re: Goodbye TRT?
I'm sorry if it feels like I don't get on as much as I used to. I'm getting used to being in Eighth grade now, my finally year in middle school. I'm trying to work hard now so when it does get to the time when school ends, I'm not worrying about everything. School has given me more work, I just turned in a fricken project in the beginning of the month, I am taking Freshman Algebra and I can't afford to get more than two B's or I won't be in Advanced Algebra next year, I am dealing with problems with my friends and their problems, and I just don't really have the time anymore.
Not to be mean but when I come on, no one is on and no one tries to start a conversation anymore which can keep everyone going. You really have to start facing the facts that we are getting older and the world is not slowing down for us. If it was, I would still be in fourth grade enjoying life as a kid. I have to start thinking about if I should go to private school, keeping goals, saving money for college, I'm only 13! So please, it's not that we don't want to go on, I do, but it's just I have no more time.
I will still make an effort to come on, but it hurts me to think that the reason I don't come on anymore is because I don't want to.

Re: Goodbye TRT?
I think that we should switch to the chatango room that I finally got SG to make and spam everyone in the private messages to come. Either that, or ask them nicely. There's a lot of people on chatango.

I kinda agree. As for all that stuff you're thinking (Private school, etc)... Well, you said it yourself, you're only 13. Slow down a little

Re: Goodbye TRT?
seriously though, if everybody invited their younger friends, we'd have an entirely new generation, and TRT would live again for a while. Then, they could do the same for their friends.. etc.. for example, I was going to drop little slips of paper with the chat link on it around in the middle/high school rooms at my church, and hope some people check it out. X)

You go ahead and tell people in your church and school about a forum. No one will take me seriously, and let's not forget that I live in a country that english is not being spoken, just taught. No one will care about an english forum over here. They'll probably ignore me and log on Facebook.
And besides, why the hell would I go to church and start telling people about a forum?

well, I'd embarass myself a good deal if it mean't getting more member on here, I mean, TRT has been a great community, and it may seem a bit silly, but hey, it might work!
