Should we give to charity?
Okay, so many of you who read the title will want to have a go at me. Well, don't. Just yet, anyway. Okay, let's take the Haiti Earthquake. We're all expected to help them, by raising money. Uh, we need ot the money, too, we are in a recession. Okay, so, we give them our money that we actually need ourselves. We give it to a country who we will be at war with in the future. They will then cost us money, and waste all of the money we gave them killing us. Then, if you do decide to give them money, how do you know it gets there, or, if it does get to them, what do they really spend it on? Okay, so you put £1 in a collection point at your supermarket. But, who gets the money? The charity, or the shop? And if the charity gets it, do they spend it on things like water, food, and first aid, or things like TVs for the hospitals, or spend the money building a new, idk, Tesco? All of this makes me doubt charities, and I only give money to those I care about very much, such as Cancer Research or Children In Need. And when I do donate to them, I don't give a lot, because I'm just not sure. Discuss!
Re: Should we give to charity?
Giving to charities promotes good global citizenship, and helps us keep peace with foreign nations., whether we become enemies with them, or not.
Also, just make sure the charities you are giving to are creditable, like the Red Cross for exapmple. They're first on the scene after disaster strikes, providing relief.
In my opinion, giving is always good. Just make sure your not being foolish a bout it and giving it to organizations who will misuse the money. Make sure the charity gives a clear and present demonstration on what they plan to do with your donation.
Thank You,
-Ac
