My Club Penguin Submission
Wacky Wildlife in the Wilderness!
“There’s no such thing!” argued my buddy Sir Gamealot with a confused look, as we waddled over to the pet shop. We had got in a discussion over the legendary rainbow puffle. As we entered the shop, the manager greeted us with a friendly smile and asked if he could help. I eagerly asked him if he knew anything about the rumors of the rainbow puffle. As soon as I mentioned it, every puffle in the room looked at me, shocked.
He replied with a puzzled look, “To my knowledge, there is no such thing. But if it was real, you’d find it in the wilderness. That’s where we discover all our new types of puffles. If you’re looking to catch one, it would be extremely dangerous to attempt without knowing its special power. It could become frightened and try to defend itself. I remember one penguin that tried to capture the white puffle without knowing its abilities. We were dethawing him for a week! You’ll need a team of expert puffle tamers to capture one…but first you need proof. If you manage to snap a picture, we’ll go out and tame them.”
As I left the pet shop and headed for the forest, I wondered to myself, “How awesome would be if I were the first to discover the mysterious rainbow puffle?” Once I got to the forest, I took the cleared path that led straight to the wilderness, with no protection other than the flash of a camera. I searched up, down, left, right, and all around. I saw tons of previously discovered puffles, but even they were not too fond of me being in their territory. It had been about two hours of wondering aimlessly through the wilderness, when I finally spotted what I had come all this way for.
Finally, after all of my searching, I thought I had found what I’d been looking for. There I was, face to face, with a puffle that was beautifully decorated with all shades of blue, red, pink, black, green, yellow, purple, and even white! I slowly raised the camera to meet with my eyes, and placed my flipper on the flash button. Out loud I said, “This is one small flash for a puffle, one giant illumination for pufflekind.” As I looked through the lens, I saw something sadder than Rockhopper without Yarr, Sensei without cards, Penguin Band without instruments, and Cadence without any tracks to spin.
It was crying. It gave me a look as if to say, “The world isn’t ready for me.” I gently sat my camera down and smiled. “Maybe the world isn’t ready...” , I said to myself. I signaled the puffle to return to its happy life. It smiled at me, and began to merrily hop away. As I returned to the pet shop, I wondered if I had just experienced what I thought I had…or had I just eaten a bad Fish Dish Pizza? Some mysteries are better left unsolved…
Well thats my submission to C.P. for the story writing contest..I know it sucks and its cheezy..but it was 1 A.M. and I was bored..so give me a break. It's 500 words EXACTLY. Please tell me what you think of it. Thanks for reading. Btw I already submitted it so if you try their going to know your copying. lolz.
