The Wall

Walking along a shadowed wood
I paused to listen to the sounds
And saw that from where I stood
I didn't stray far from the hounds

Fearful of their watchful eye
I built a wall to be alone
and although they howl and cry
I wouldn't let the demons ruin my home

The citizens came along my wall
and taking the side of the devil's dogs
They called to for me to obey their call
I said they were nothing more than hogs
but those swines of men kept hitting my wall

My emotions ran high
and only my sanity kept a constant beat
I asked how I could ignore the deafening cries
of those animals that couldn't leave their thorny seats

Those devils told me to tear down my wall
they said that I couldn't hide away from that life
inside their controlling jaws
I felt like I were to give up to these types
and let those hounds knock down my wall

but unknown to them, I did escape their deathly howls
and their orderly ways of graying the skies
their habits of killing through vows
I did escape those animals through a daring try
of forever excusing me from their deadly jowls

Yes, I did let those devils and men come to tear down my wall
and rejoice they did for their victory of this colorful sky
they turned it dull and made the leaves fall
The conversion was very much so nigh

All that was left was to take me and make me them
but then they find I did hide
Behind that wall that they had broke with their sin

For with my wall I did fall
and crumbled like my wall I laid on the ground
they were angry at what they saw
a man who won the final round
for under my wall I did fall

I escaped the hounds by taking myself
and although I now was one with the earth
I was ever more higher than those animals had ever felt.

Anyways, I really liked this arma. ...But when I first saw this thread I thought it was going to be about Pink Floyd.
