PDN Tutorial for beginners.
This is Sly Cooper's tutorial from CPHQ. I tried to re-write it, but his was too good. Here it is.
Just a Few easy effects that can make signatures look cooler
Border Shadow
Open Your background Image and Add a New layer
On the New layer Make a shape similar to your background image with the shape tool.
Go back to the Background Image and Feather
Now on the Border Add a Drop Shadow
You can Also change the Border Layer's Properties to make cool effects like below
Reflection
This effect is really simple but effective
Copy your Main image onto a new layer and flip it upside down
Move the upside down one to the bottom of the screen and lower the Opacity
Now their are so many thing you can do with the reflection but you can figure that out yourself.
Shine
You can Add a Shine to make things look more realistic
Ex:
Add a New Layer to what ever you what to add a shine too.
Make a Shape around the area that you want to shine
Select inside the shape on the new layer with the Magic Wand Tool
Go Back To the background Layer and Select from the Tool Bar Adjustments>Lighten the delete the shape layer
Perspective Change
This feature can really help make cool Text Effects ect.
Open what ever you want and Press Ctrl+Shift+Z to preform a Rotate/Zoom Set it to what the image below says (Move the Sphere to change Perspective) .
Now you can add a Drop Shadow and make a looking Cool Text effect.
Darken/Lighten Lines
Now this one is an effect I use in almost all signature I make.
Find a signature background like this and add a new layer.
On the New layer make a border around the signature.
Have the Color Wheel set to Black as Primary, Transparent as secondary. (To do this use the Color Picker over transparent)
Now Select the Paint Can and on the Tool bar Select Backwards Diagonal.
Fill the Border
Now Go to layer Properties, For the Blending Mode Select Color Burn and set the transparency to what looks good
Merge layers Feather and your done
To make the lines lighten instead of Darken, Select White and Transparent and set the Blend Mode in Layer Properties to Additive instead of Color Burn.
Really Simple Recoloring
A new found way that will make recoloring even easier
Requirements
Color Flip/Rotate
^It come in a pack with. Credits to Ed Harvey
I know Lets make a Red Leprechaun Hat
On your penguin image use the Magic Wand tool to select the Hat Your going to have to change the Tolerance for the bottom part
Use The color Flip/rotate plugin and select red
Do this for the entire hat or item and your done
Gradient Text.
Requirements
Multi-Gradient.

K this is simple yet very nice.
On a new Transparent canvas, Type Black text in any font you want and add a new layer
On the Original layer select everything but the text (Make sure to select space inside of the letters) and press CTRL+I witch selects all of the text.
On the NEW layer use the multi-color gradient. At what ever you want (Experiment with this step)
Delete the original text layer and you have this, Or something similar .
Feather it and outline it if you want.
Done
Try combining different colors in the Multi-Gradient and different fonts, you might find something you like.
That's All for Now.
More will come soon.
Heres my finished product on the dropshadow.
Have fun guys - sirzach

Re: PDN Tutorial for beginners.
I would like to make a question too.
I save this .jpg file from google. I erase the whole background from the pic, but when I try to add the pic to background from another layer, I can still see some white pixels. I can 't make them all disappear myself, it will take like, years!
Any suggestions?

Re: PDN Tutorial for beginners.
@AC, this is old, but yeah, its pretty easy once you figure it out.
@Cookie, You got the backround transparent. You need to paste the picture into a new layer on the picture you're putting it on. You have white pixels because you didnt erase it well. You can use the magic wand tool, or to be very precise, you use the eraser. The eraser takes some time. You need to go around the entire thing, erasing every pixel, Usually takes 30 minutes.
