Homework Help

Post by Acdog on Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:41 pm

Stuck on a problem on your homework? Post the question here. Maybe someone else can help you. This thread is meant to be a mini-topix site, but only about homework/schoolwork questions. I'll start, since I'm stuck.

What does the word range mean, not in math terms, but it has something to do with amphibians/animals apparently. Like the range of an animal. What is that???

Oh. You don't have to ask a question if you don't want to. You can just answer them. But thanks for the info. That helped me.

It's UKan for "studying." And you should know what sticking a thread means by now.

I don't believe that anyone is willing to explain you, so, CD to the rescue Very Happy

I'm sure you've noticed that on every section (example, General Chat) has at least 3 threads on top under the title ''Announcements and Sticky''. Those are considered the most important threads on the whole section, so you should be honored ;D

Convert area to perimeter? I have no idea what you mean by that. What's the problem? I'll try to figure it out.

What UG said. Area and perimeter are two different things..you can't convert from one to the other.

Perimeter = the distance/length around an object.
Area = the square feet/space inside an object.

I may be able to help, but, if not, I highly reccomend you check out khanacademy.org. It's a cool site that teaches algebra, from the simplest stuff, like (7 times x = 14) to uber-hard stuff. all in a very easy to understand format! so, yes. if im not able to do it, or im not around for any reason, i highly reccomend you check that site out.

Re: Homework Help

Post by Cowzrock on Fri Oct 15, 2010 4:30 pm

Basically, in your example of 18b+11g, say that B would equal 2, and G would equal 2.

You would muliply 18 and b, which is the same as 18 x 2.
Then you would multiply 11 x g, which would be th same as 11 x 2.
You end up with 18b=36, and 11g=22..
Then you add the two together, because theres an addition symbol.

I suck at math, but I rule at algebra. Im a nerd.
If this confuses you, read it over a couple of times.

Happy to try and help!
